With the going rate of discontent, especially about the European Constitution, it wouldn't surprise me at all that within a couple of years, European States will start to secede from The Union. This Union, an undemocratic Federal-like bureaucracy created to benefit multi-national corporations, has sofar brought nothing but little petty rules and regulations. Rules to benefit big business. It's all very nice that we can now pay with the same currency in almost all States, but what use is that when everything is now double the price?
And what for the small countries like Holland? Our say in matters will ever decrease. In the end, it will be the larger countries dominating proceedings as they already do now. We can simply nod and follow the Leader. No to that I say.
I believe in a Confederate States of Europe. Work together economically, but leave the rest in peace. There will never be a "one Europe". We are just too different. And the governments of Germany and France just want power and influence. And the UK just wants the US. And Italy just wants Pizza.
The States of Belgium, Luxemburg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland and The Netherlands should declare their secession from the Union and create their own economic space. And then Norway will join as well, I'm sure. In that way, the larger countries will have to take notice. With the inclusion of the Baltic States, we could even put a ring around them. In this scenario there will be more equality amongst European States and a good counterbalance in Europe.
I say we take back Fort Sumter! Or Brussels as we call it. I've fired the first shot. Anyone is entitled to a Lost Cause!

From the way it looks I'm convinced they sacrifice students on top of the building. It looks to me like something the Morlocks designed. This might be the reason they voted this the Best School-building in Holland 2006. But without kidding, it's kinda interesting too. It stands on top of an artificial (this is Holland you know) hill.
This school is for VMBO-students. These are commonly known as the lowest form of student around. VMBO rightly or wrongly stands for "Incredibly Thick Layabouts". Which might explain why I did the MAVO (which is the predessessor of VMBO).

Meanwhile, my old hometown of Aalten is worldnews. The one house they had has gone to Dorothy-Land. And should my windows really move that much? Fortunately we can count on the Government to inform us. They tell us no trains are running in Holland at the moment because there are just too many leaves on the tracks. Sometimes with the tree attached, but this is optional.

In al mijn jaartjes in London had ik eigenlijk nog een ding niet gedaan; naar 't theater. Gisteren dus maar even gechecked wat er nogal zoal te zien viel. The New Statesman en Spamalot waren helaas niet meer beschikbaar, dus het moest maar wat anders worden. En aldus viel het ook op Love Song. Of beter gezegd, op Neve Campbell. De meesten schijnen haar te kennen uit Scream, ik ken haar toch meer uit The Craft. En aldus was de keus erg snel gemaakt. En-passant kregen we ook nog Kristen Johnson van 3rd Rock from the Sun-fame als extra. Dus in Hollywood-gehalte was voorzien.
En ik moet zeggen, het was erg goed. Verder zeg ik niks uiteraard behalve dat het een erg geslaagde romantische comedy is. Aanrader om de matinee te gaan kijken om 15:00 op een zaterdag. Grappig genoeg was hoofdrolspeler Cillian Murphy de beste van 't stel ondanks dat ik natuurlijk alleen maar naar Neve keek. Maar eh, objectief gezien dus wel, eerlijk is eerlijk. Het is eigenlijk best wel jammer dat ik dit niet vaker heb gedaan toen ik er nog woonde, dat naar theater-gaan in London enzo. Maarja, berouw komt na de zonde.

Your blogging webperson will take a deserved time off this weekend. Ryanair was selling tickets to London for 36 Euros return and as it's my birthday next sunday, I decided to really treat myself. I'm flying from some obscure German airport to Stansted, should be interesting. My kind host in London will be Konstantin and as the weather over there should be very reasonable the coming few days, you can rest assured I'm going to bore you with new London-photos for months to come.
I'm not sure if I will be able to update this here blog, as Konstantin uses one of these very funny weird machines, made out of Apples. Apparently these things run on juice and the mouse really is a mouse. I've also been told that to turn one of these machines on is an intelligence-test all by itself, so I should be hopeless at it. Compare it to unhooking a woman's bra whilst standing in front of her, it's that kind of big test.

It will be renamed The Republic of MiniSpace (ROM) obviously. For this purpose however, I need citizens to tax just to be able to buy it.
