No holiday for these people in Israel I suppose. Actually odd that they are covering up, considering they don't like burqas. And look, on the right, it's my buddy again. Nice boots!
However unfortunately for him, I do not belong to his group in many ways and I would have preferred being photographed by her, but I suppose that's my luck again. Finally, I publish this photograph (sorry, quality is quite raw) - she just looks oddly intriguing.

Today was Carnival in Doetinchem. It's just that some of the costumes were a bit suspect. But then again I don't know anything about Carnival. I thought it ended last week ... ?
Strange day this. Some ultra-right-wing party decided to hold a demonstration in Doetinchem. It's not often you find a story on your doorstep in these parts so why not take a look I thought. After 5 minutes or so with no demonstration in sight I was stopped by Police. "Why I was taking pictures". My name went in the big Secret Service book, a bit ultra-right-wing-totalitarian but I suppose they have ze right. This has never happened to me in England where I've photographed dozens of demonstrations, but hey, this is a small provincial city. Holland has turned a bit creepy in that respect. Also; I am blond and look "Arian", so that might be a reason they stopped me, this being a nassi-rally. Hmm. I suppose this is how certain minorities often feel ... poor Police, they never get it right in that respect.
Once I stumbled onto the demonstration (roughly 40-or-so neo-nassi types) I again was in the spotlight. I think he likes me. It must be love. Anyway, it was all rather pathetic and there was far more Police around than nassis. The Police even used a helicopter. And all of this for a handful of loonies. I don't understand why lefty-Indymedia types and Authorities alike are so afraid of these people. They're just a joke. And fortunately, the people of Doetinchem seemed to agree, judging by the jeering and sheer laughter.
So it was Carnival afterall.

AALTEN - Had Aalten eerder al gekregen een treinstation, een heus AZC, een rockpaleis maar boven alles; een vestiging van de HEMA, nu is de conformatie naar een heuse stad echt een feit geworden met de feestelijke installatie van een groepje heuse Hangjongeren. Want laten we wel wezen, geen stad is een stad zonder zijn eigen hangjongeren. Sommigen hebben zelfs "een zakje weed" bij zich. Bij wijze van proef zullen de hangjongeren eerst alleen in het stadscentrum ingezet worden. Mits zij deze kunnen lokaliseren.
Momenteel zijn er nog enkele hangjongeren-vacatures waarbij allochtonen en vrouwen de voorkeur genieten. Info: Gemeente Aalten. De onstuimige ontwikkeling van Aalten kon de Gemeente Winterswijk uiteraard niet over zich heen laten gaan. Zij kwam onmiddelijk met een heuse hennepplantage op de proppen om zo de concurrentiepositie van Stad Winterswijk veilig te stellen. Doetinchem, bezorgd om zijn reputatie als crime-capital van de Achterhoek, kwam daarop met een heuse vuurwapenbedreiging.
Burgemeester Prins Rob de 2e van Leutekum spreekt over een zorgelijke ontwikkeling. Achterhoekse gemeenten willen zo graag bij 'de grote jongens' horen dat hij vreest voor verdere excessen. Wellicht een echte moord of erger; de PVDA die in CDA-bolwerk Aalten wint. De Aaltense Hangjongeren (Inc.) waren helaas niet voor commentaar beschikbaar omdat ze om 7 uur naar bed moesten.

The NVU and the NCSER will fight for 12 rounds on February 24 in the town-centre of Doetinchem. Matinée from 13:00 until 17:30 (lunch at 15:00) and Evening Show from 20:00 onwards in the local pubs. As members of both groups are usually on income-support please expect both groups to form a secret coalition to pay the bills.

This because the NVU thinks that all humans who do not speak Dutch should be exterminated and this was made clear to me via burning cross in front of my flat and the NCSER threatened to organise a sit-in in front of my flat to protest against the kapitalist Americanisation of the Dutch language. Deze keer is het Angus Young die mijn oude dorpie Aalten weer in de krant zet ... ik berichtte er eerder al eens over. Meneer bouwt in de Wilheminastraat tegenover z'n oude huis een vrij groot rockpaleis. Men klaagt daar blijkbaar nu over ofzo, alhoewel het al maanden dorpsroddel is. Het is natuurlijk wel zo dat heel Aalten Noord-Oost geen natuurlijk licht meer heeft maar ach ....

14:06 Love In The Park
It's actually quite nice having a rather large Park at about 100 metres from your apartment. This park is about half the size of St. James's Park in London with a similar pond. It offers everything a park can offer in winter; little kiddies feeding the ducks, the above pictured luvvers, nice wildlife and er ... Buffalo? Or a creature that resembles it. These actually walk around free in the park, no fencing .... no Indians either.

Funny, it's usually Porsches (for those well-off), non-red Ferraris (for the slightly rich but still worried about income-tax), Jaguars (quite rich), Bentleys (pretty rich and not afraid to show it), Roll-Royces (old rich), TVRs (new rich) and red Ferraris (rich with toupet) you see in St. John's Wood. And the odd New Mini (wife/toyboy/mistress of any category rich). But this!??
