30 June '07 - 18:15 Places I Remember
Hmm. Things are all happening at places I used to live. I was a regular at Glasgow Airport whilst living in Scotland and Piccadilly Circus and Haymarket are also no strangers to me from my time in Dartford. I know that they make very hot curries in Glasgow, but never heard someone actually caught fire because of it. And as to London; today was Gay Pride there - did anyone make a connection to the Brixton nail-bomber, considering the cars were full of ... erm .. nails? Meanwhile in Doetinchem; the supermarket was out of biscuits.

As of today, this blog will stop reporting on Paris Hilton. Full Stop. US Weekly has decided to follow this blog's example. Both words in her name will be avoided. As a matter of fact, the whole country of France and any references to any hotel will be avoided just to make sure.

16 June '07 - 10:49 Troop!

Don't care what people think, I always enjoyed watching Trooping the Colour when I was in London. Just zapped into it again on BBC1. Gives me a tingly homesick feeling again. 'Fernweh' the Germans call it I guess.

Ik dacht al, zijn ze daar in Japan nou helemaal ... Maar dit bericht verklaart dan in ieder geval dit bericht.
13 June '07 - 22:22 Progress Report
There are times when living on a fourth floor apartment (that's 'condo' for my American visitors) isn't such a bright and breezy idea. First of all, when it's hot and humid like now, it's even hotter and humidididor inside. Secondly, having a knee injury due to unprotected football and no lift available, those stairs turn into torture objects extraordinair. Being the medical coward that I am, I've only now made an appointment with the doctor. I see visions of big needles, saws and scary white coated persons coming up soon.
My knee has decided not to bend any further than 90 degrees. After which it stops and makes it own view known by hellish pain and the feeling your kneecap is about to launch.
Due to all of these inconveniences I totally forgot I had a meeting today with the Board of our apartment block. They rang, I opened the door with a hazy "what's all this then" look on my face and only wearing shorts which didn't make too much of an impression I'm sure. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a very productive meeting. Well, there's always the unexpected (quote: Maj. Warden, Bridge on the River Kwai).
Needless to say, after one-and-a-half weeks of vegetating on the couch with a wounded knee, my flat was a bit in a state of disrepair. My mum would weep. My dad would disinherit me. As Suggs would say, it's an embarrassment, a living endorsement.
