Het is dus definitief gedaan met de trots van de Achterhoek, het centrum van winkelend Doetinchem en dan bedoel ik natuurlijk warenhuis Huls. Op de fles, failliet, bankroet, it is no more. Huls was zo'n plek waar ik altijd even binnenliep (maar zelden wat kocht behalve audio). En zoals vele Achterhoekers was Huls een zeer vertrouwd stukje 'thuis' bijna. Je was er al zovaak geweest dat het simpelweg niet anders voelde. Menig LP en CD heb ik gekocht op de muziek-afdeling en wat leek het toch fantastisch als je gewoon eens ALLES kon kopen. That'll be the day eh? Welnu, heeft iemand nog 10.000 euro over?

Throwing cocktail-sausages about without the appropriate sauces is simply not 2007. I kid you not, I was just looking at a programme on Dutch TV about caravanning, telling me that Holland is the most densely populated country ... caravan-wise. 500.000 of them things are currently on mostly German Autobahns ...

Misschien moeten ze zo'n bord ook eens op Windows Vista plakken. Ik krijg me toch een partij negatieve verhalen erover te horen - veelal van mensen die er nooit mee gewerkt hebben. Ik moet zeggen, na twee weken Vista, dat ik al die ophef niet zo begrijp. Gewoon jezelf een beetje informeren voordat je koopt. De slaapstand is inderdaad dodgy maar verder zie ik het probleem niet. Eigenlijk vind ik zo'n besturingssysteem totaal onboeiend. Het moet gewoon werken en al die gadgets enzo zijn leuk maar onnodig. Ik gebruik Windows alleen maar om zo naar mappen of programma's te gaan - meer niet. Waarom dan telkens weer die poeha voor zo'n systeem is me een raadsel.

Despite good intentions, I have decided (due some budget and software constraints) to side with the Devil and buy myself a nice Dell setup with Windows Vista. All of a sudden my blog looks completely, well eh, pinkish? How did that happen? Or is it simply the mammoth 22" screen I've bought that makes things look ... perhaps as they are as opposed to my dimly lit previous screen. So once I've mastered this whole Vista thing, I will start to rejuvinate this sleepy blog. The phrase to used here is: stay tuned.
