18 Dec '09 - 21:51 Well Duh!

President Obama leaves early "because the weather is poor". Well hello, we knew that!
I thought that was the whole point of the thing!?

13 Nov '09 - 20:54 Hollaendische Demokratische Republik

Genossen. Of daaromtrent.

GPS ingebouwd! Mooi toch!

Evening all ...

31 Oct '09 - 17:43 Twitter - The First Cracks

Oh dear. Trouble in Twit-land. Someone has actually uttered the word that shall never be spoken in Twit-land: "boring". King of the Twits Stephen Fry (not usually associated with the word 'boring') writes boring tweets/twits/twatters according to a follower-twit. Who was promptly blocked by King Twit Fry. And now King Fry consideres twittering off. If even Stephen Fry becomes boring due to the nature of Twitter than what future does this 'service' have? Of course it's boring. It's too quick and short to be anything else. If a blog like this one is boring (impossible ofcourse), at least you can comment about it using more than two words. And have a think before you write.

I just never saw the point of telling everybody everything you do at the very moment it happens. And why these followers have an interest in that is an even weirder thing. To quote King Twit Fry:

"I blather about my day, my likes and my dislikes, I sometimes try to be amusing and I allow my incoherent thoughts to tumble out. I routinely press send without thinking and I often get myself into trouble. That is what Twitter is all about. But maybe the very fact that I have so many followers now disqualifies me from stating the sort of opinions all others are free to – as if I were a member of the royal family. Lord, what a thought."

The conclusion therefore is that Twitter is growing up. And once the juvenile exitement is gone and Twitter really does become an adult, people will use Twitter exactly like any other means of mass-communication; with caution. And caution = boring = the end.

[UPDATE]: Bummer, King of the Twitters Fry has kind of clawed back and doesn't seem to be leaving just yet. Mister Brumplum was nearly my big hero ... However, it's funny to see that those Twitter-people still need an old-fashioned blog to further explain themselves. [/UPDATE]
