Sometimes you take a picture and you only notice a year later what the picture actually is. Because this looks like a potential drug-deal to me. Admittedly, it's on Haight Street, central-universe of hippiedom. I'm sure someone who knows a bit more about these things can tell me what that purple tube-thingy is. It could be chewing-gum, perhaps I shouldn't be so pre-judgemental ... then again, I took this picture just before the one featured. Somehow I can't imagine he stops for chewing gum ...

Not having a major metropolis round the corner anymore (like in my case London) does begin to sting a bit. And it's not just the little things like not being able to shop on a sunday. Or monday-morning for that matter. Watch street-life proper and have this 24-hour world at your service. I'm not saying that this is good but it certainly makes it a bit more interesting.
Holland doesn't really have a major city. They're all just villages. Amsterdam thinks it's a major world city and it comes close, but compared to London it's really just a town.
What do I want to say? I don't know, perhaps I want to be where it happens without actually having to participate. Where other people already do stuff and you just watch or be entertained. Adjusting to living in a place where you yourself have to make it happen. So perhaps what I'm trying to say is I should get off my lazy butt. I let you know once I've found out ...
