04 Jan '09 - Hibernation Mode Off
Well, I survived the New Year celebrations relatively unscaved. I had two English-speaking persons staying with me during the past week and I've got the almost empty Polo wrapper to prove it. And some tea. And a clean flat. It is however proven beyond any doubt that the English are turning into a nation of coffee-drinkers ... In any case, what am I going to do here on this blog in 2009? Dunno. Like every year I would like to pack it in as I feel every blog has a sell-by date and I think mine was June 2006. It is however likely I will struggle on For The Benefit Of Several Visitors and to have a general goal in life, but I have yet to decide on the frequency and content.
Yesterday I decided to be nice and offer my obsolete cooker/oven on 'marktplaats' (kind of Dutch e-bay thingy) FOR FREE. I no longer need it, it's big and heavy and in the way. This I have known. My mobile phone battery is drained from all the calls I got. It was gone within one minute after I placed the ad. Offer something for free and any good Dutchman will spot a bargain. They're like wolves then.
But at least I will get something back in return which will be priceless: the look on their faces when they find out they have to collect it from the 4th floor (no elevator).
